Founder of Iraq’s first hip-hop school
An initiative teaching hip-hop and conscious rap to young people, sharing practical artistic experience with a new generation.
The interview ↗A founding path in conscious Iraqi rap since 2007, hip-hop education, visual production and international collaborations.

Wido Prince.
That’s me.
Wido Prince is an Iraqi international artist, rapper, songwriter and music producer. He established his conscious Iraqi rap project in December 2007, choosing to write about people, society and identity rather than diss tracks and insults. That foundation shaped a career combining lyrical purpose, music production and a distinctive visual presence.
He founded Iraq’s first hip-hop school, combining his work as an artist with a commitment to sharing knowledge with a new generation. His practice grew from songwriting and recording into music videos, visual production and live performance, presenting hip-hop as a culture of expression and creativity.
His collaborations include Dubai We Love You with Abdullah Alhameem and Ghazal, and TikTok with Nigerian music producer Supabrainbeatz. They extend to the United States through One Blood with New York duo Da YoungFellaz, and to Denmark through Check It with Maathoven and Trauma, connecting voices, languages and production perspectives across music scenes.
He was the first Iraqi to participate in Arabs Got Talent, taking part in Season 2. His media appearances include Alhurra in Iraq and the UAE, Al Jazeera English, Alsumaria and Al Mashhad, alongside editorial interviews and Erem News’s Ghair Mamnou podcast.
He began with rap in Arabic, expanded into Arabic and English rap, and went on to explore pop, R&B, Afrobeats and Amapiano, alongside techno remixes. Across that evolution, he brings hip-hop together with Arabic elements and his Iraqi roots, retaining his own approach to writing and performance. His catalogue includes Nafs El Roteen, Qesa Balad and Strong & Clever, through to 3al 7ala, Fog El Ghaim and Mako Khof, alongside live recordings and visual productions.
He has performed at Iraqi universities and the Iraqi Cultural Centre, and taken part in youth events at the invitation of the Iraqi government. His music videos have been filmed in Dubai, Turkey, Belarus, Egypt, Lebanon and Iraq, bringing different places and cultures into his visual language.
Currently based in Dubai, his travels across Europe and other countries contribute to an artistic perspective shaped by different places and cultures.
